MENTOR TRAINING

WE HAVE A HEART AND PASSION FOR ENGAGING THE CHURCH AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS WITH RESOURCES THAT EQUIP VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS TO SERVE VULNERABLE YOUTH THROUGH MENTORING RELATIONSHIPS THAT CULTIVATE AND INSPIRE POSITIVE, LASTING OUTCOMES.

Courses inspired by the lives and voices of the vulnerable

We are passionate about equipping volunteers and youth leaders in the UK, Latin America and worldwide with the skills and resources needed to develop and carry out effective mentoring projects. In addition to receiving training in practical skills and relational competencies required to become an effective mentor, our courses also address social issues such as child exploitation, street lifestyles, abuse, and physical and emotional well-being.

The foundation of our resources lies in the exchange of knowledge and experiences from young people in the UK and Guatemala who have lived on the streets, spent their childhood in residential protection homes, and lived in marginalised communities with others suffering from various struggles such as cycles of violence, generational poverty, and mental health. Now, these young people, with the support of their mentors, are working for positive change in their lives.

The young people who are breaking the cycle of vulnerability and are now community leaders and mentors are inspiring the development of our resources. They have become the motivation behind the creation of these courses.

TRAINING TESTIMONY

"The Foundational Specialist Mentoring course was fantastic. It has provided me with numerous mentoring resources that I find incredibly helpful. I plan to assemble a group of volunteers and bring them together to take this course. Our aim is to prepare our volunteers for interacting with young people in a small group setting with the objective of fostering one-to-one mentoring relationships."

Learn to Mentor with Intentionality and Faith

Our courses are designed to train mentors who accompany young people in vulnerable situations. Our aim is to equip safe and secure adult mentors to provide emotional and relational support to young people in contexts marked by loneliness and risk.

Our courses teach how to build intentional, close, and trusting relationships, promoting a positive impact both on the lives of young people and on the dynamics of the mentoring relationship itself.

Learning Approach

We aim to facilitate a dynamic and interactive learning experience for the participants of our courses. At the heart of our approach is continuous reflection and learning opportunities through our participant guides, which include group activities and personal reflection exercises.

Mentoring is deeply connected to ourselves, our character, and our motivations. That’s why we believe self-reflection is key not only to acquiring skills and knowledge but also to developing our Christian character and love for others.
