WE BELIEVE THAT EACH INDIVIDUAL MATTERS
"LOVE ONE ANOTHER. IN THE SAME WAY I LOVED YOU, LOVE ONE ANOTHER".
Nicodemus began in 2012 with a commitment to supporting young people in Guatemala aging out of residential care and street youth leaving behind a life on the streets. Following starting up a Youth Mentoring Programme, currently supporting 120 young people, our reach has grown through the training and accompanying of Youth Mentoring Programmes throughout the UK and Latin America.
In 2012 when encountering a group of young people struggling after leaving their residential protection home for children in Guatemala, this group of young people were heading towards returning to living a street lifestyle and going back to sleeping on the streets – where they had previously been rescued from before going into childcare. Nicodemus heard the call to start a Youth Mentoring Programme for these young people. Our Youth Mentoring Programme exists to support these young people to achieve a healthy transition into young adulthood and independent living.
Reducing the number of children and young people suffering from poverty and disadvantage by providing emergency shelter and practical care.
Enriching lives through long-term support, mentoring and improving access to education and employment.
Raising up young people so that they live independently and become community leaders through getting involved in social action and becoming training as mentors.
We believe that each individual matters
We are responding to God’s call to serve people suffering life crippling poverty. Poverty destroys families, dreams, and opportunities, but most of all erases hope. The COVID-19 crisis has pushed more children, young people and families into extreme poverty, meaning a multi-faceted approach is needed to combat its destructive long-term effects.
